Christopher Ramirez, a native of Las Vegas, embarked on a diverse career journey that ultimately solidified his role as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. After graduating from Bishop Gorman High School and attending the University of Nevada (Reno), then film school at UNLV, Ramirez ventured into various fields, from launching a valet service for Rat-Packer Nicki Blair to working in the gaming industry and later as a consultant to Native American tribes in the transition to multimillion-dollar properties.
Despite these early pursuits, Ramirez's creative spirit led him to film. He began his cinematic path by shooting a music video for a local band and subsequently enrolled in film school at UNLV. Ramirez starting as a production assistant on “Vegas Baby” then staying on as Creative Executive at Insomnia Entertainment, where he cultivated relationships with agents, distributors, and executives, as the company was backed by the owners of the UFC. Notably, he transitioned to Location Manager on the company’s third film, Yonkers Joe, leveraging his intimate knowledge of Las Vegas to enhance the production. This experience led to working as a location manager on noteworthy projects such as "The Hangover," “Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain” and Steven Soderberg’s "The Girlfriend Experience".
Further establishing his presence, Ramirez served as Production Supervisor on films like TIFF premiering "About Sunny” and "The Motel Life” and Unit Production Manager on the Focus Features critical hit "The Mustang." All of this work contributed to the growth of Nevada's production landscape and took advantage its motion picture tax credit, which Ramirez championed through the 2013 legislature. This wealth of experience drove him to establish Silver State Production Services, an instrumental entity in the Nevada production landscape, facilitating projects in commercials, television, films and live events for clients like Warner Brothers, Nike, Zappos, Heineken, and several music videos for names such as Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. The service company employed dozens of crew members on “The Hangover III”, “Wild Card” with Jason Stratham and “The Trust” with Nicolas Cage.
His pursuit of storytelling excellence lead to the founding of Lola Pictures, where he collaborated with esteemed filmmakers and talent agencies, resulting in the production of acclaimed films such as "Frank & Lola”, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and "Viena & the Fantomes”. Both films distributed by Universal Pictures and fulfilling Ramirez’ passion and commitment to the local industry.
Ramirez’ dedication to his hometown found expression in initiatives like the Life is Beautiful Festival, where he played an instrumental role in its launch by directing and producing the inaugural year’s videos. He also ventured into creative endeavors like "The Las Vegas Movie Tour," underscoring his commitment to showcasing his city's cinematic heritage.
Christopher Ramirez currently has several projects in development including a television series and feature film with writing partner Claire
Rose Kennedy, along with an unscripted series with artist Ry Shorosky.
Chris Ramirez produced the feature film Frank & Lola starring Michael Shannon, Imogen Poots, Rosanna Arquette and Justin Long, through his company, Lola Pictures. The film, shot in downtown Las Vegas and the Wynn Resort, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it was purchased by Universal Pictures, who distributed it in 2016.
Chris Ramirez produced the feature film Viena & the Fantomes starring Dakota Fanning, Jeremy Allen White, Zoe Kravitz, Jon Bernthal and more through his company, Lola Pictures. The film, which utilized locations around Southern Nevada was financed and completed in-house and was distributed by Universal Pictures in 2020.
Chris Ramirez directed and produced the inaugural line-up video for the Life is Beautiful Festival in Downtown Las Vegas through his company, Silver State Production Services.
